I am Dr. Elizabeth E. Pooler and I am board certified Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia. I have over 25 years of working in the helping field. My professional background and education afford me the ability to help my patients experience a holistic approach in life. I understand that both the mind and the body can experience unique and effective approach in counseling. I work to provide patients with tailored treatment plans that can be integrated into their daily lives.
I have a PhD level education in Counseling and Masters in Education with emphasis in Counseling Psychology. I've always focused on helping others, prior to becoming a counselor, I work with child/adolescence experiencing behavior issues. I also worked closely with adults and geriatric patients providing assistance in enhancing their quality of life; talk, listening, activities. I graduated from Capella University, PhD; Troy University, Masters; and Mercer University, Bachelors degree.
Outside of private practice, I have worked as a adjunct professor, therapist in an outpatient clinic, integrative group practice, hospital, and as a Director of a Child/Adolescence for a Community Mental Health Facility. I have experience treating children, adolescents, and adults as well as elderly with diverse backgrounds and ranges of concerns. I have training in TF-CBT, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and PTSD/Trauma therapy. I am a humanistic, CBT therapist.
I am a professional member of the American Counseling Association and a LPCA of Georgia. In addition to my license, I am a CPCS (Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor) professional. I continue to educate myself by attending local and distance workshops and training, and keeping up with current therapy research.
